Biking in the city, sometimes you wish you had 360 degree vision. Especially with increased cars that seem distracted, especially for drivers talking on the cell phones and driving at the same time.
Nike has come up with a concept design for cycling glasses called the “Nike Hindsight” that will help riders see traffic approaching them from different angles.
Normally, most people only see about 180-degrees of forward vision, by using the curved “Fresnel” lenses it extends the riders field of vision by up to 25 per cent on each side. Beyond cycling for the daily grind, I can see these glasses as a wonderful tool for sports including track and field, marathons and even professional cyclists. Imagine riding in the Tour de France with the Hindsight and being able to see other racers approaching you without turning your head back.
Specifications
- Status: concept
- Designer: Billy May
- Production date: unknown
- Increased vision: 25 per cent on each side

It’s summertime and with the Hamilton Beach Snowman Ice Shaver you can make dessert fun and tasty right at home. With the included ice molds, you first create ice blocks for the ice shaver to use. Once frozen, in a matter of seconds, the Snowman Ice Shaver creates a light, fluffy batch of snow. Just place the frozen block of ice in the blade unit, cover with the top, and press down. Two plastic molds with lids are included for freezing water, syrup-flavored water, or fruit juices. Unfortunately, flavored water is not included with the unit but, a recipe book is. Who needs Rita’s Water Ice when you can make batches of water ice at home!
Highlights:
- Ice Shaver makes sno-cones and frozen beverages
- 2 molds included for freezing water or juices
- Also uses regular ice cubes
- Sharp blade safely out of harm’s way when operating
- Recipes included

Here we have a nice weather shelter that’s a hybrid between an umbrella and a tent. If you seek real protection from everything the beach dishes out, this Umbrella Shelter is for you. It water proof so, light rain protection is a given. I wouldn’t suggest using the shelter during a storm… duh. You get sun protection that blocks out 99.7% of UVA and UVB rays. That comes to a UPF rating of 50+. If the wind starts kicking up, then two side panels fold out and stake in the ground to provide nice wind prevention. With the panels out, you get up to an 80 inch diameter of protection! A nice little bonus is the side screened windows that open up, giving you great cross ventilation if gets a little toasty inside. Of course, all of this fits into the included shoulder bag that you will never be able use once it out the first time. It’s the thought that counts…
