This hot little thing can charge up to 10 devices and costs only $10.
It charges your smartphone, your netbook, your optical drive, your media player, and your PSP. Which is quite a preponderance of gadgets. More than you can conveniently carry chargers for everywhere you go. Unless, you own this Octopus cable. Then you’re free to heedlessly suck down power until you go bankrupt.
The Octopus cable is a USB connector with ten different plugs that feed into it. It has a 2mm and 3.5mm Nokia jack, a PSP jack, a USB Mini 5 pin jack, a MicroUSB jack, an LG jack, Samsung 20P s and M jacks, an Ericsson fast port, and (of course) an iPhone/iPod jack. There is one caveat with this product; you can only plug one gadget in at a time. That said, it’s still convenient as hell.
In terms of price versus usefulness, the Octopus is hard to beat. $10 gets you a USB connector that should take care of all of your charging needs. Buy one and toss it in your gear bag. The next time you’re on vacation or crashing at a friend’s house and forget your phone charger, you’ll be glad you have a spare Octopus laying around.

Ever wonder how to keep your feet warm in a long walk to the bus stop in winter? No more layers of socks and gigantic pair of boots that are too heavy to walk. Now there is an elegant solution, the battery powered heater Bugathermo Boots from Columbia. The built-in rechargeable batteries can keep the heat up for 4-8 hours straight.
The Columbia Bugathermo boots will make your feet straight-up sweat even in the coldest of conditions, at least for a few hours. You’ll want to start heading home when the battery display starts dropping, lest you’re stuck out in the snow with just plain normal boots on instead of futuristic superboots. You wouldn’t want that to happen!
They’re available now for $250.

The world’s first Dual E-Reader from enTourage. This should be a good treat for book lovers. The product is called enTourage eDGe, a dual-screen E-Reader/Android tablet. Sure, it doesn’t have the style, the incredible UI design, or the outstanding potential for organizational tasks that Microsoft’s Courier does. But right now, it has one massive advantage over Redmond’s slumbering giant; it exists.
The eDGe is not the sexiest gadget ever built. On the outside, it looks pretty much exactly like a netbook. Unfolding it reveals two screens. One, a 9.7″ E-Ink screen that can read ePub and PDF files. The other, a 10.1″ color LCD touchscreen that houses an Android tablet. The eDGe has WiFi, optional 3G, Bluetooth, and the ability to record video and audio.
Altogether, it sounds like a pretty sweet gadget. At $500, it’s set quite a bit above the rest of the reader market, but it has the increased functionality to justify it. I’m still going to hold out hope for the Courier but, if you can get over the silly name, the eDGe looks like a nifty tool.

Not to be confused with the Slap Chop, the Garlic Chop is a too-cute utensil that makes it easy to chop up garlic. Looks like it’d be fun to try out too.
Constructed of of polycarbonate plastic, the utensil looks just like a garlic clove and has cross-like teeth that easily slice and chop. Just place cloves inside and give the lid a few twists. The twisting action minces the garlic in no time.
The best part is, you just push up the base and the chopped garlic slides directly into your bowl or pan – no stinky garlic fingers here!
The two ends of the Garlic Chop magnetically seal for easy storage and are dishwasher safe. Great little stocking stuffer, and priced right at less than $11.
