This lantern provides renewable light generated by a handcrank dynamo that also powers an AM/FM and weather radio, resulting in reliable emergency illumination and weather updates during poor weather and power outages for up to six hours off a full charge. Light is provided by a 9-watt compact flourescent bulb or six bright white LEDs with separate on/off switches, both lighting systems are enclosed by a protective cover. The lantern may draw power from an automobile or boat using its built-in 12-volt DC port (car/boat adapter included) to charge its internal 3.6-volt backup battery and a 12-volt DC removable battery pack; the 12-volt port may be used subsequently to power a cell phone (cell phone adapter not included). The removable battery pack includes a 12-volt AC adapter. The AM/FM radio can receive seven NOAA weather frequencies; a weather hazard alarm setting warns you of inclement weather approaching. All audio is processed through a compact 1-watt speaker, and a collapsable antenna is housed in one of the support arms of the lantern.
