Presenting the Alfa Online and the Alfa Battery from Brighthandle. The handle indicates the room is occupied with a red light on the outside of the door when the thumb turn is activated. When the room is vacant there is a continuous green light on the outside. As the product indicates, the “Online” refers to hard wired, so power is always available. Where this option doesn’t exist, the “Battery” version is available and uses 2 R6 batteries. The difference with the Alfa Battery is it only turns red when the thumb turn is activated, otherwise it’s off to save on batter life. Public bathrooms, conference rooms, dressing are good examples of its application. Always on red emergency exits would also be a good idea…

I’d expect another clue besides color would help the color blind. Say red flashing, green solid?
