So why do I want this printer? Because it is an excellent piece of gadgetry! And let’s be honest…isn’t that why we subscribe to this website in the first place?

And what a fine gadget it is. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary has the term ‘gadget’ as being born in 1886 and defined as “an often small mechanical or electronic device with a practical use but often thought of as a novelty.1” This Epson printer will no doubt serve many practical purposes but with it’s sleek all black design, double black capacity, red eye fix function, WiFi capabilities, USB flash access, scanning, faxing and copying (oh, my), I don’t call those attributes of this gadget a “novelty”… I term that down right sexy – borderline salacious for the person who need, nay simply *desires* the conveniences this product offers.

So while I will apologize for not being terse, (at least my reasons are cogent!) I will not apologize for being a fangirl of well made and down right sexy gadgetry.

Why do I need this printer? My Adam daisy wheel printer just gave up the ghost. Great black and white, but not so much on the color.

Well, here’s a sappy but honest explanation of why I need this printer. I am a 57-year-old disabled woman. I have always worked 2-3 jobs my whole life. In 2005, I became disabled after being hospitalized three different times with very serious unexplained occurrences, the last one heading for a coma. Since that time, I’ve not been able to work. I want to be able to sell things on ebay to support myself, but I don’t have a printer and I don’t have a digital camera. I have been doing various things to cut down on expenses so I can save my money to purchase those things, but everything is so beyond what I can afford. It will take me a long time just to purchase the electronics I need to get going. It has taken 2 years and now I finally have a computer (a laptop) and Verizon just sent out a deal for the internet for $9.99 a month, so I’m now hooked up to the internet, but I still need the printer and the camera. The reason I was looking at this printer is because it is wireless. I have moved into a very small place and there is not a place for a work station, so I was thinking I could put it on a bookshelf. I also liked the idea of the fax because I have to fax medical documents now and then, and it costs money to do that otherwise. I will be happy to verify anything I’ve said if need be. That’s it, plain and simple…I just really need it!

Thanks for the opportunity to participate,

    Laura
