Golf like a professional with “Shadow Caddy”

Ever dream of being like a professional golfer and having a caddy follow you around the course carrying your bags?

Well Shadow Caddy is a new innovative golfing product that will make you feel like a pro on the golf course. This electronic, three-wheeled robotic caddy follows you around the course, carrying your bags, without the aid of a remote control.

With the help of a small transmitter attached to your belt it’ll follow you around, and avoids collisions because of a sophisticated object detection system.

Currently Shadow Caddy is available in Australia only. It will be available in Germany, the UK, Switzerland, Austria, Spain and Portugal in June of this year. It is expected to be launched in the Canada and South Africa sometime in 2009 and other markets are expected to follow shortly.

The caddy has two settings: “Follow-Me”, and “Park”.
Designed to operate in all weather conditions from freezing to baking hot
An overnight charge will give the Shadow Caddy up to 10 hours of next-day service
An infra-red collision-avoidance system to keep from running into you or other golfers
Currently only available for rental on specific golf courses

I can’t help but find it a little funny how the shadow caddy is called the first of its’ kind and such a new idea, because it is just a copy of the old Rover golf caddy that was first produced in the early 70′s by Citation manufacturing. The Rover and shadow caddy even look alike with only minor differences.
