This seems to be a breakthrough device that could prove helpful to people with a variety of vision problems. Personally I have continued to endure the vision snafu I have been left with after experiencing a partial retina separation in my right eye. After several surgeries progressing from several attempts to secure the retina with lasers, a scaral buckle implant, clouded vision, an interoccular lens replacement, with a surgerical slip knicking the corner of my iris that has left it frozen, being extremely sensitive to light and also has created a tunnel vision in it losing approximately 40% of my field of vision, especially peripherally. I now am forced to live with vision that creates a double image when using both eyes and can not focus clearly on anything with my right eye. Because the vision that I have with both eyes basically provides the same field of vision as what I have only with my left eye, I was told by a sight surgeon specialist that because to the scalar buckle surgery, it’s discomfort and frequent eye socket pain, that I have 3 options. 1. Live with it as it is. 2. have the right retinal nerve snipped along with the scalar buckle removed. 3. Remove the eye and replace it with a artificial one. The last two options result in absolutely no vision in my right eye. I am now experiencing floaters in my left eye, which I believe is a direct result of the strain of having to rely so much on my left eye for my vision. So as far as I am concerned, devices my ultimately be the best solution for people with similiar vision problems as mine.

Mark, I do not know if you have sought out or received any information regarding Vuzix low vision products, but I am ready to assist you and be your connection.

Vuzix products enhance what you’re trying to see and present that enhanced image to your eye via LCD screens worn like glasses. Image enhancements include magnification, contrast, brightness, edge definition, and image reversal. Some models also include the addition of color as some people see color better than blak and white or white on black.

Vuzix understands there is no single device that will work for everyone, and that it will take a bit of time to determine if the unit is going to work for you so we have a policy of allowing 30 days for a trial period during which you can return the unit for a 100% refund.

Do take a look at our web site, and if you let me know where you live, I can tell if there’s a Vuzix dealer close by or not. I’d be glad to answer any questions and consult with you whether there is a local dealer or not.
