Signostics, a large medical equipment manufacturer, recently received FDA clearance on the Signos, the world’s smallest palm-sized ultrasound. In a world of ever-increasing medical costs, compact and cost-effective devices like the Signos may alter the way healthcare professionals practice medicine.
Looking much like a Blackberry (and about the same size), the Signos is a quick and cost-effective alternative for individual healthcare practitioners – making it possible to have ultrasound technology in their clinic at a fraction of the cost of traditional machinery.
The compact design means it’s convenient to keep in a pocket or wrapped around the neck like a stethoscope. It weighs just under a pound and the portability and “quick access” nature of the unit lends itself to numerous areas like emergency medicine, primary and critical care, pediatrics and palliative care. It’s also ideal for remote healthcare.
The machine can deliver high-resolution images anywhere, anytime for a variety of medical purposes like bladder and trauma assessments, screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm, internal bleeding, general obstetrics, and more.

A single of my favored factors about blogging is this community of bloggers. We aren’t cut-throat. We share successes and miseries. And when anything performs, we do not always keep it to ourselves – we want it to operate for everybody. I love blogging and hope that it becomes full-time only one day, but I delight in the understanding and growing (the journey) and am a really patient man.
