We posted on the Restore Clean Water System back in October but, we just got our hands on one for review. We’ve been using it for about a week now and the results are good. Myself, my husband and even the kids have been using it.
In a nut shell, the Restore Clean Water System is a water purification system that cleans tap water in two stages and stores it in this 8 cup water pitcher. The first pass removes heavy metals, chlorine (taste and odor) and some industrial and agricultural pollutants. The second (and unique feature) is the UV Clean Technology that removes 99.9999% of bacteria, 99.99% of viruses, and 99.95% of microbial cysts.
Setup was a snap but, takes a little time out of the box. There are cleaning steps for the new filter and new pitcher. You have to soak the filter for about 15 minutes and rinse it out. When ready, you just place the filter in the pitcher and push down to create a water tight seal. Finally you need to run 16 cups of water through the filter to really clear it out. Now you are ready to make great tasting water.
Using the switch on the handle, you place the pitcher in fill mode. Fill the top with water until you complete stage one filtering and fill the bottom section. Then place the switch on purify mode, plug in the device and hit the purify button on the plug. The UV light will then come on for about 30 seconds to kill 99% of bacteria. Once completed the retractable cord cleans up nice to store away for its next use.
That’s it… you are ready to drink. Place the pitcher in the frig to keep it chilled and once empty, just repeat the process. Overall, the water tastes great. It could all be in our head but, we think it tastes better. Now, we didn’t send water out to the labs to verify the claims of the manufacturer but, we can sense a difference and will continue to use the product.
