A level is an essential part of any tool kit, whether you’re a serious DIYer or just need to hang a picture. Using a level makes things like hanging a picture a no-brainer task. No more wondering whether the picture is crooked, just hang it and use the level to guarantee it’s straight. The Black & Decker Grip Level with Accu Mark erases this problem. The Gecko Grips, features two adjustable Accu Mark targets that slide along the center rail. These marks help you hang pictures and shelves with built-in wall mounts or preset hang holes; just line up the marks with the mounts on the back of your pictures, then place the level against the wall and note the spots with a pencil. Using this technique, it’s a cinch to hang heavy mirrors and large portraits, long shelves and big paintings.

I own one of these and they are every bit as good, and as useful, as the article describes!
The “grip pads” on this level, keep it fast to no “swinging or pivoting”, while trying to hold it with one hand and measure with the other. The greatest feature, of course, is the ability to pre-set this level with the sliding markers, then apply these settings to your work.
A great tool, one I wouldn’t be without!
