kuster K1 baby furniture highchair

Sleek and sophisticated isn’t exactly how I’d describe today’s children’s furniture. But this K1 highchair from Küster certainly differs from the norm. Not only is it modern and stylish, it’s highly functional too. It even got a thumbs up from Halle Berry.

  • removable, washable 5-point safety harness
  • complete with basket for handy storage
  • adjustable legs make it easy to adapt to uneven floors
  • highchair grows with baby, up to 6 years of age
  • foldbable, so it works with tight spaces
  • no assembly required, just remove it from the box and unfold
  • comes in a variety of colours and cushion seating options

Going on a trip last weekend, we ran into the problem of trying to find a place to heat up the baby bottle. There is nothing more frustrating than having a hungry baby in the car, waiting and crying for the formula to heat up to the right temperature.

Karim Rashid has designed a self heating baby bottle branded “Iiamo” that is able to heat milk up to 37 degrees in 4 minutes. Its a mobile bottle that requires no batteries, but heats up the milk through an embedded heating cartridge made out of the salt and water.

One of the key features about this device is that the bottle is made out of the cleanest and most environmentally friendly plastic material polypropylene (PP) without BPA.

Now if we can only get this Danish company to spin out an adult version – tea or coffee heater for me. :-)

    Specifications

    • Includes a disposable heating cartridge
    • Able to heat the milk up to 37 degrees in 4 min

Call me crazy, but if your baby has a fever, wouldn’t they be crying out in pain, rendering this pacifier-thermometer combo a bit ineffective? I mean, how are you going to keep it in their mouth?

But I suppose if you just have an inkling that they’re getting sick or things are getting progressively worse, this might be a soothing, less-invasive means of taking your child’s temperature. Parents of the world, feel free to enlighten me!

The Pacifier Thermometer from Summer Infant beeps once the reading is done and a red glow will appear if the temperature reaches 99.9 degrees Fahrenheit or more. Temperatures can be read in Celsuis or Fahrenheit and the internal memory can even store the last reading so you can stay atop of your child’s health.

If you’re like me and think “eew” every time grab hold of a shopping cart, you might want to look at the Boppy for your little bundle.

The Boppy is a shopping cart liner that acts like a 360 degree layer of protection between your child and the everyday germs that collect on a shopping cart. Plus, it’s kinda plush and stylish and I like how it comes with toy loops and several storage pockets so you can stash your own essentials.

The Boppy is machine-washable and fits regular and larger-scale carts, as well as most restaurant high chairs. Just make sure you use it on chairs and carts equipped with safety belts.

Show your little guy how to pee like the big boys with Peter Potty, the world’s first-ever flushable urinal made especially for kids.

The way I see it, if you’re going to potty train, why not teach them right the first time? Forget the potty chair – let them stand right from day one, just like poppa.

The Peter Potty can be mounted to the wall or left to stand on its own base against the wall. And best of all, it flushes too! Well, not in the traditional sense, but the potty comes with a refillable water reservoir so you just push a button and the urine goes directly into a small bucket that stores several pint-size pees.

It grows with your boy too. Simply adjust the base and the potty grows up to 4 inches.
